Safer Internet Day 2026

Today is Safer Internet Day, and at Carysfort N.S. our children’s safety and wellbeing sit at the very heart of everything we do. This important day also marks the beginning of a wider focus on digital wellbeing throughout the month, as we support children to become safe, confident and responsible users of technology.

Using a GEN-Free approach, alongside our SPHE and STEM curricula, children will work collaboratively to learn about online safety, reflect on their own experiences, and develop practical strategies for staying safe online. Through age-appropriate stories, lessons, videos and buddy discussions, children will be supported in a safe, inclusive and reassuring environment where they feel heard, valued and protected.

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping Carysfort N.S. smartphone- and smartwatch-free, we encourage all parents to support this shared approach by signing the GEN-Free Smartphone Code, which is attached.

Our school website contains a range of helpful resources for parents, and we would also strongly recommend the excellent guidance available on Webwise, which offers clear, practical support for families navigating the online world. In particular, the following links may be useful:

Thank you, as always, for your continued support as we work together to keep our children safe, informed and confident — both online and offline.
