School Uniform Policy

At Carysfort National School, our school uniform helps create a sense of belonging, equality, and pride. We ask that all pupils follow the uniform guidelines below.

Uniform Guidelines

  1. Junior Infants, Senior Infants & 1st Class

    • Wear the school tracksuit every day (Monday–Friday).

  2. 2nd – 5th Class

    • Tracksuit on P.E. days.

    • Formal uniform on non-P.E. days.

    • Pupils attending afterschool sports may wear their tracksuit that day.

    • During Winter months (November–February), pupils may choose to wear the tracksuit (full-length bottoms) every day.

  3. Formal School Occasions

    • Pupils in 2nd–6th Class must wear the formal school uniform for:

      • Choir performances

      • Class photographs

      • Sacraments

      • Any occasion representing the school

  4. Shirts & Polo Tops

    • Blue polo shirt replaces the traditional blue shirt as part of the formal uniform.

    • White polo shirt must be worn with the school tracksuit.

  5. Footwear

    • P.E.-appropriate runners/trainers may be worn with both the school uniform and the tracksuit.

  6. 6th Class Hoodie

    • 6th Class pupils may wear their “6th Class Hoodie” throughout the year.

Uniform Details

Formal School Uniform (no specific style or brand required)

  • Navy trousers, pinafore, or skirt

  • Royal blue jumper or cardigan

  • Blue polo shirt

  • Navy socks or tights

School Tracksuit

  • Available from O’Farrell Schoolwear, Lower Kilmacud Road, Stillorgan

  • Royal blue tracksuit top with school crest

  • Plain navy jersey fabric tracksuit bottoms (full length or knee-length)

  • OR plain navy “skorts”

❌ Not permitted: Branded navy tracksuit bottoms or navy leggings, uggs or crocs
