ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE ARRANGEMENTS FOR CHILDREN & PARENTS
Our Insurance Company has requested that the following information is available to parents:
“The school will open to receive pupils at 8.45 a.m. No responsibility is accepted for pupils arriving before that time (except on wet mornings). Classes will end at 2.30 p.m. (1.30 p.m. for Infants). If your child is being escorted home the designated person should be at the school no later than 2.30 p.m. (1.30pm for Infants) as the school cannot accept responsibility for looking after the pupils after that time.”
On wet mornings the doors are opened at 8.30 am and all students should enter the school building as they arrive. The staff has very kindly volunteered to supervise the students while walking to their classrooms and in the classrooms until class begins at 8.50am.
In the interest of child protection and security the children have been instructed not to allow adults into the building using the buzzer at the door adjacent to the office. Please be patient if you have to wait a short time to gain access to the building.
Most of the doors in the school are fitted with push bars so that people may get out easily in case of emergency. In the morning the staff will close the doors after 9:00am. I would like to request that parents do not push the door open again from the inside but rather exit the school by the main door at the Secretary’s Office. It is important not to allow strangers to enter the building while you are exiting. If this is the case please direct the person to the Office for assistance.
I know that the safety of the children is a huge concern for all parents and staff. Many thanks for your continued co-operation and support.
Le gach dea mhéin,
Ms. Fiona Collins
